Do you have Free Wi-FI ?
Yes, we have Free UNLIMITED Wi-Fi that is available in all rooms .It can be used to accommodate up to 8 devices at the same time so several different people can use it at the same time.
Can I request a specific apartment ?
We try our best to give you the apartment you request .However please be aware that our apartments are individually owned properties. Each apartment has slightly different furniture packages and decor. Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a specific apartment at time of booking. Therefore the photos you see on the web site may not correspond to the unit you are allotted.
Is your pool heated?
Our pool is heated to 27 degrees all year as we find even on our sunny Gold Coast on our sub-tropical nights the pool may get chilly in the evening for those who enjoy an evening swim. We also have a hot spa and sauna as well as children pool.
How many people can fit in 1 bedroom surfers paradise apartments?
The one bedroom apartments are perfect for a couple and have either one queen size or king size bed, and some can be converted to 2 singles. Up to 3 persons can stay, however the 3rd person will be accommodated utilizing a rollaway bed which costs $30 per night.
How many people can stay in 2 bedroom surfers paradise apartments?
The two bedroom apartments can accommodate 5 guests utilizing a queen or king bed and 2 x single beds. We can accommodate a 5th person on a rollaway bed for just $30 extra per night.
How many people can stay in 3 bedroom surfers paradise apartments?
The three bedroom apartments can accommodate 7 guests utilizing different bed configurations such as king bed, queen bed and 2 x single beds. We can accommodate a 7th person on a rollaway bed for $30 extra per night.
What is the difference between the budget, superior and deluxe apartments?
Most of our apartments have been fully or partially renovated with the deluxe apartments being the most recent renovation. Please view our accommodation section for details of facilities in each apartment·
The deluxe apartments all have amazing river views and have been recently renovated with more modern style furniture, fixtures and fittings, they come with air-conditioning in living areas and main bedroom.
The superior apartments are fully renovated or partially renovated but may not have air conditioning in the bedrooms. All have river views and some have partial river views or city views.
The budget apartments have city views, are very clean but with older style furniture and fittings with no recent renovations being done. Not all rooms are air-conditioned, however all do have fans.
All our apartments are are individually owned so the decor and fittings vary from apartment to apartment. The photos for each apartment are from an actual apartment in that category and the apartment you will stay may have a different decor.
How big are your holiday apartments?
One of the most common comments from our guests is how spacious and practical are our apartments. Moorings on Cavill apartments are recognized as very big Gold Coast apartments.
Do two bedroom apartments have one or two bathrooms?
2 bedroom apartments always has two bathrooms. An en-suite with walk-in shower, vanity and toilet and a second bathroom with shower and toilet, many also have a bath.
How many bathrooms do the three bedroom surfers paradise apartments have?
The three bedroom apartments have three bathrooms. An en-suite with walk in shower and toilet plus two other bathrooms with showers and toilets. We find that our guest find it convenient to have separate bathroom facilities and this is a very popular apartment choice for our repeat guests for their holiday accommodation..
What complimentary amenities do you supply?
The apartments are fully self-contained, however every apartment has a complimentary start up amenities in the apartment. This includes a small amount of coffee, tea ,sugar, milk, detergent, washing detergent, rubbish bag, cleaner scrubber, 2 toilet rolls, 2 bath soaps and 1 conditioning shampoo. Once these are used guests purchase their own supplies from the supermarket.
Do you provide Hair Dryers?
Yes, each of the apartments have a hair dryer
Can the Free WiFi run out?
UNLIMITED FREE WiFi is available in all holiday apartments and all areas of the Moorings on Cavill. You should never run out!
Does each of the apartments have a laundry?
Yes, all the apartments have a separate laundry with washing machine and dryer. We also provide a clothes rack, ironing board and iron.
Does every apartment have a kitchen?
Yes, all the apartments have a full size kitchen with full size fridge, dishwasher, oven and stove. Kitchens are equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, bowls, storage containers, place mats, saucepans, fry pan and other kitchen items such as cups and glasses.
Does every apartment have a balcony?
All the apartments have a balcony with outdoor table and chairs
Are all the apartments air conditioned?
All apartments have fans and the majority have individual air conditioning units in the main living area. Some of the two bedroom deluxe apartments are fully air-conditioned with an air conditioner in the main bedroom or in all of the bedrooms. Most apartments have an air conditioner and ceiling fan in bedrooms. As we are located on the Nerang river with river breezes, the fresh breeze is nice and cool and the air-con is often only needed on very hot evenings. Please see the details on each room category for details.
Can I get meals delivered to my apartment?
We offer room service options for our guests. Menus are available in all rooms, just call the relevant service to order and there is a delivery service direct to your apartment door. Fees apply.
Many of our guests in wheelchairs find Moorings on Cavill comfortable and easy to use. While we do not have any apartments specifically for our disabled guests all our apartments are accessible by lift. We have a main entry walkway designed for wheelchairs so easy access to the building from car park and internal lifts. All doorways are wide enough for wheelchairs and many apartment have a walk in shower. Please advise with reception when you book to make sure the shower is wheelchair accessible as some older units still have a shower hob.
Surrounding access from the Moorings is easy as you can take a wheelchair around the flat riverfront and wide footpaths areas.
Can baby equipment like cots and high chairs be organised?
We can arrange to hire in baby equipment so that it can be in your apartment when you arrive. Contact us with what you require, we will get a quote for you and will arrange to have this in your room on arrival.
Are all the accommodation apartments the same size?
All the one bedroom apartments are approximately same size. The two bedroom apartments are similar size, however some deluxe and the penthouse have a larger living area. See our accommodation section for the actual sizes of apartments..
Do each of the apartments have a view ?
Yes, the Moorings on Cavill building is unique as it has been designed in such a way that all apartments have views. Most of the apartments face north with views of Nerang River and Surfers Paradise hinterland mountain views from the balconies. Some apartments have city views and as well as river views while some have views of the bustling activity of Cavill Avenue. Every apartment has a view with wide windows going onto a balcony.
Is Moorings on Cavill good for family accommodation in Surfers Paradise?
We welcome families with children. The one, two or three bedroom surfers paradise apartments are spacious for families and can accommodate from one to seven guests. We also have a large heated pool which is heated to 27 degrees all year round. We also have a special children’s wading pool as well as hot spa and sauna. Additionally there are 2 BBQ areas with covered entertaining areas located right on the Nerang River with amazing river views. There is also an indoor games room with table tennis and video game machines.
Romantic Getaways in our Surfers Paradise Apartments
Moorings on Cavill is perfect for a romantic getaway in the heart of Surfers Paradise. Just picture the two of you sitting on the balcony sipping champagne and enjoying the uninterrupted views of the Nerang River and Surfers Paradise in the early evening. Then walk to the nearby amazing restaurants and nightclubs of Surfers Paradise.
Can you arrange for flowers or champagne to be in the apartment for our arrival?
Nothing is too much trouble for your special occasion. Please let us know what you would like for that special someone or for a treat for yourself. Fees apply.
Do you provide the bedroom and bathroom linen?
All the bed linen and the bathroom towels are provided at the start of your holiday. We do have extra towels and bedding available at a nominal cost. Beach towels also can be hired for small charge.
Can I get extra bedroom and bathroom linen?
Yes, we can provide this at nominal cost any time you require. Just phone reception for immediate service.
Can I get extra cleaning in my apartment?
Yes, we offer several cleaning service packages for our guests. Please discuss with reception when you arrive.
Are the apartments non-smoking?
Smoking is NOT permitted in the apartments. See terms and condition for these penalty charges. Guests may smoke on the balcony with the doors firmly closed to ensure that there is no smoke wafting into the apartment.
Are you located close to Surfers Paradise Beach?
Moorings on Cavill is only 500 metres and a 5 minute walk directly up Cavill Avenue to the beach. Please make sure that you always swim between the flags! NEVER swim if there are no lifesavers on duty.
Do you have a babysitting service?
We recommend a local, accredited babysitting service which we can put you into contact with prior to your arrival or any time during your stay
What TV channels do you offer?
Foxtel Premium HD is FREE plus regular digital channels are in your apartment all operated through the Foxtel remote control.
How often are rooms serviced?
For bookings in excess of 7 nights you will receive a mid-stay service. During this service all linen and towels are replaced. The apartment laundry has a washing machine and dryer as well as an ironing board and iron so you can wash your own clothes at any time. Additionally we can provide a room service clean daily or as required for additional change.
Is it cheaper to book online?
As unlike many of the larger accommodation hotels we will discuss your exact requirements and chat to you so the answer is NO! Booking online is not cheaper. We will match rates depending on availability and most times you will find that we can offer better rates than any online rate. Additionally if you book direct we can guarantee a particular room for you.
If I cannot see the dates or apartment type online does this mean it is not available?
For various reasons it is not always possible to have every combination of apartments online. Please give us a call direct as we may be able to meet your request.
I cannot use the phone during office hours so can I phone you after hours?
Yes, please leave a message with our after hour’s receptionist and we will call you back the next day at a convenient time. We are more than happy to correspond via email as well.
What happens if we are arrive outside of your office hours?
This is no problem at Moorings on Cavill. Just press the after hour’s button at our front door. Speak with the after-hours receptionist and they will let you into the reception area. They will give you a code to the safe located on the reception desk. Inside you will find an envelope with in your name where we will leave your keys, parking map and room information.
Standard Cancellation and Deposit Policy :
Dates: All dates outside those dates specified in Peak and high seasons.
For all hotel collect bookings, we charge $200 at the time the booking is made. The balance is payable 7 days prior to the arrival date for off-peak or 14 days prior for school holidays and high season.
In the event that the booking is cancelled within 7 days of arrival date (off-peak) or 14 days prior for school holidays and high season, the cancellation fee is equivalent to the full room cost.
If the booking is cancelled outside 7 or 14 days, then $50 may be kept as your cancellation fee and the remainder is refundable.
Standard Cancellation and Deposit Policy (Peak Season):
School holidays, V8 Supercars, Easter, Special Events.
For all hotel collect bookings, we charge $200 at the time the booking is made. The balance is payable 14 days prior to the arrival date.
In the event that the booking is cancelled within 14 days of arrival date, the cancellation fee is equivalent to the full room cost.
If the booking is cancelled outside 14 days, then $50 may be kept as your cancellation fee and the remainder is refundable.
Standard Cancellation and Deposit Policy (High Season):
Dates: 21/12/17 to 8/01/18
For all hotel collect bookings during this period we charge a $500 deposit at the time the booking is made. The balance is payable 14 days prior to the arrival date.
If the booking is cancelled outside 60 days, there is a $100 administration fee and the remainder is refundable.
In the event that the booking is cancelled between 14 days and 60 days of arrival date, the cancellation fee is 30% of the full booking cost.
In the event that the booking is cancelled within 14 days of arrival date, no refund will be given.
In the event of a no-show the full amount of the booking is non-refundable.
